CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — A Fluvanna County High School student has been arrested following a social media threat against the school.

According to a release, the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office was notified about a threatening post on social media Friday directed at the high school.

The post was a picture of the high school with a caption that read “I’m (sic) bout to shoot this (expletive) up.”

Deputies worked quickly to identify and arrest the student who made the threat, who was later identified as a 16-year-old student.

The teenager was charged with threats to commit serious bodily harm to persons on school property and is being held at the Blue Ridge Detention Center.

As this case involves a juvenile and is pending in court, no further information is being released.
