VIRGINIA (WAVY) — On Monday, Governor Glenn Youngkin ordered flags to fly at half-staff in memory and respect of the 17th Anniversary of the mass shooting at Virginia Tech.

Flags over all state and local buildings along with flags on state grounds will be lowered at sunrise on Tuesday, April 16 and remain at half-staff until sunset.

On April 16, 2007, a student opened fire on the Virginia Tech campus, killing 32 people and wounding 17 others before turning the gun on himself.
