Henrico Police looking for suspect caught on video shooting dogs

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Henrico County Division of Police is asking for help identifying and locating a suspect in a shooting incident in the Highland Springs area which was captured by security cameras.

According to police, at around 4:10 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, officers responded to the 100 block of Elsing Green Way in the Highland Springs area for a report of a shooting. At the scene, the officers spoke to the caller, who said they heard shots being fired, then discovered two of his dogs injured in his backyard.


Security camera footage shows an armed person shooting at the dogs several times before jumping a fence and running through the neighborhood.

The suspect is described by police as a Black male possibly between the ages of 18 and 25 who weighs around 150 pounds and stands between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-9. He was wearing a white T-shirt, a black jacket, red pants with white stripes down the sides and black shoes.
