NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A Maryland man was sentenced on Friday to eight years and four months in prison after relentlessly cyberstalking several victims, including five victims from the Eastern District of Virginia, over the course of a year and a half.

Court documents reveal that 27-year-old Joseph Bourabah harassed and stalked several people from Sept. 2021 through Feb. 2023, even going as far to harass the victims’ family, tenants and former employees.

In September of 2021, Bourabah used a fake account on Facebook to share pornographic content and spread false accusations of a victim. Shortly afterwards in October and November, Bourabah sent pornographic videos of the victim to the victim’s family and friends.

During this time, Bourabah also emailed the victim on various occasions, including an email with a link to a website where Bourabah had posted videos of the victim, along with the victim’s name and former employers, according to court documents.

Bourabah also harassed the victim’s mother, having posted pornographic videos on her social media feeds on multiple occasions.

On Feb. 23, 2022, Bourabah created a fake Craigslist post, advertising the mother’s pet ducks for free, resulting in them being taken. Shortly after this, Bourabah also posted a fake Craigslist post advertising her trampoline for free.

According to court documents, Bourabah also advertised another victim’s car as available for free and even attempted to have the car towed.

In January of 2023, Bourabah used a picture of the victim with the victim’s home address to advertise a party titled “[victim’s name] Pedo Kink Party.” Bourabah told the victim in an email from Dec. 26, 2021, “I’m never going to stop. I’ll be trolling your children’s babysitter 10 years from now.”

Court documents state that Bourabah also harassed this victim’s mother, posting fake ads on Craigslist for a Halloween costume party, a New Years Eve Party and an open house event. He was also found to have ordered unsolicited services to the mother’s house, including tree cutting, carpet cleaning, junk removal and towing.

An investigation showed that Bourabah harassed approximately 31 victims, with at least five victims living within the Eastern District of Virginia. Court documents reveal that over 1,000 harassment indictments occurred across the 31 victims.
