HERNDON, Va. (WDVM) — Police are investigating an apparent triple homicide in Fairfax County, Va.
One adult and two children were found dead inside a home a home at the 500 block of Florida Ave.
Officials say the victims, one adult and two children, were members of the same family. It is believed the suspect, who died by suspected suicide, had a relationship with the adult victim.
Herndon Police Chief Maggie DeBoard says this was a “bad” scene and the department is providing resources for the officers who responded to the call.
“Our officers were also exposed to a very horrific scene…And with assistance from the Fairfax County Peer Support team, and resources we have here in place at the Town of Herndon, we have made these resources available to our officers and they are getting the assistance they need to continue to work this traumatic event,” said DeBoard during a briefing.
Officials say there are no public safety concerns at this time.
