MIDDLESEX COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Two people are dead following a crash on General Puller Highway in Middlesex County Monday evening.

At 3:54 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16, Virginia State Police were called to investigate a two-vehicle crash on General Puller Highway, east of Gloucester Road, which resulted in a death.

Police said the crash investigation has revealed that 64-year-old Allan Wayne Cash was driving a 2014 Kia Soul east on General Puller Highway when the car crossed the centerline of the road and hitting an oncoming vehicle, a 2017 Ford Transit van, head on.

The front seat passenger of the Kia, Cash’s mother, 90-year-old Eleanor Heath Cash, died on impact.

The rear seat passenger, Cash’s wife, 50-year-old Donna Sue Cash, was taken to Walter Reed Hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries and later died due to her injuries from the crash, according to police.

Cash was also taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Ford Transit van, Sherry Rena Green-Henry was heading west at the time of the crash. Green and an 11-year-old passenger were both taken to Walter Reed Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said neither alcohol nor speed were contributing factors in the crash. Charges are pending further review from the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
