UPDATE Sept. 4, 2021: Prince William County Detectives have arrested a 17-year-old suspect in connection to an August 27th shooting at Freedom High School in Woodbridge.

Police say two groups were fighting in the parking lot of the school. One group demanded money from the other. Authorities say at one point, the suspect took out a gun and shot into the crowd striking one victim in the lower body and grazing another on the foot. Neither victims were involved in the initial altercation according to officers.

The suspect was found in North Carolina where he will remain in custody until extradited to Virginia.

UPDATE August 28, 2021, 12:27 p.m.: The Violent Crimes Bureau of the Prince William County Police Department is offering a reward of up to $5000 for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this shooting. PWC Police are asking attendees from the football game to please contact the police department with any information.

The 15-year-old male victim who was shot in the lower body received treatment at an area hospital and is expected to recover from his injury. There is no further update on the condition of the 14-year-old female victim.

Police are still looking for a suspect who injured the two teens on Friday night but were able to recover shell casing from the scene. They have not been able to determine the motive of this incident.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WDVM) — Update: Two teenagers have been shot in the parking lot after a high school football game at Freedom High School Friday.

Prince William County Police say a 15-year-old boy was shot in the lower body, and a 14-year-old girl was grazed by a bullet in the foot.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

A meeting point for families was established at Northern Virginia Community College- Woodbridge Campus while police did a search of the area.

There is no active incident. No shooter has been identified or located.
