State Police responded to the crash near mile marker 203 near the westbound entrance to the Sandston scales at around 7:21 a.m.

Larmar Thomas Burrows of Williamsburg, who was driving a 2007 Freightliner Columbia 120 tractor and pulling a 2013 Suncrest transport trailer with five vehicles eastbound on I-64, lost control and drove off the road to the left, according to State Police, striking a 2017 GMC Savana box truck in the center lane.

Both vehicles then crossed the median and stopped on the westbound side at the entrance to the Sandston scales, State Police said. The box truck struck a section of guardrail, a light pole and the embankment off the right shoulder as the Freightliner overturned, along with a trailer, which also hit another light pole, State Police said.
