Join 10 On Your Side’s Operation School Supplies to give students across Hampton Roads a fresh start in the classroom. WAVY-TV 10 and WVBT FOX43 have championed this mission for
32 years. We need your help to collect the tools kids need for a successful year.

This year’s drive runs through August 4.

WAVY-TV 10/WVBT-TV FOX43 General Manager Carol Ward expressed, ‘We are committed to ensuring every child has the chance to thrive, and Operation School Supplies exemplifies our dedication to achieving this goal. By collaborating with our viewers, local businesses, and community partners, we aim to equip Hampton Roads students for a successful school year.”

Please join us at our Friday live remotes on July 12, 19, and 26, and on August 2, as we look to increase awareness and donations to the 10 On Your Side Operation School Supplies drive. Come out and meet your favorite WAVY News 10 Today personalities from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Here’s how you can contribute to Operation School Supplies:

  • Make a donation at any of our drop-off locations below
  • Come out to one of our LIVE Drop Off Events
  • Donate online. We’ve teamed up with the United Way so you can make a cash donation. Just click the link below.

Last year, WAVY TV 10 collected more than 60,000 school supplies ~ everything from notebooks to backpacks. An additional $3,296 was raised with the help of the United Way to purchase supplies for children who needed it most.

This year’s donation period is starting earlier than in years past because many local school districts have moved to a pre-Labor Day start for the new school year. The first day of school for students in Norfolk Public Schools, for example, is August 19 this year.

If you’re considering donating supplies, keep in mind that Virginia’s sales tax 3-day holiday weekend is August 2-4, 2024. This coincides with WAVY’s final live remote.
