(WAVY) – The high school basketball season is full swing, and on Friday night some of the top contenders in the area picked up big wins.
In Suffolk, King’s Fork won its ninth game in a row by defeating Indian River 97-50.
Leading the Bulldogs were Zehki Darden, who scored 30 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, and Adarvis Boston, who had 20 points to go along with 16 rebounds.
Across town, Oscar Smith defeated Nansemond River 62-51. The Warriors trailed Smith 42-41 heading into the final period and that’s when the Tigers started to pull away.
Thursday night, Oscar Smith (14-1) hosts King’s Fork (12-2).
In Norfolk Lake Taylor topped Booker T. Washington 92-58.
