HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — The 16th annual Hampton Heat that takes place Saturday quickly sold out when news officially broke that NASCAR fan favorite Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be racing at the historic late model track.
“As a racing fan it’s very exciting. Anytime you add star power to a late model race it’s thrilling,” Langley Speedway president Bill Mullis said. “You look at him, as good as his late model team has been, fans can expect a historic event…. I think they’re going to see fantastic racing and some of the best late model stock racing the United States has to offer right here in Hampton, Virginia.”
