NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The high school basketball season is gearing toward the playoffs, and Norfolk Collegiate is working toward a state championship push.
The Mighty Oaks are 25-4 on the season, and have four double-digit scorers on the roster. The squad is headed by UVA legend, Junior Burrough, who led the Cavaliers to the Elite Right in the 90s under Jeff Jones.
Now, his son Justin is the defensive anchor on this Mighty Oaks team, leading them in rebounds, blocks, and field goal percentage.
The team has already exceeded its win total on the season, including playoffs, with games to go on their regular season schedule.
Norfolk Collegiate will take on Hampton Roads Academy January 14 at 4:30 p.m.
