ODU dismisses leading scorer for “conduct unbecoming of a Monarch”

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — On Sunday, Jan. 28, Old Dominion University announced it was releasing the team’s top scorer, Vasean Allette.

The team said the dismissal was due to “conduct unbecoming of a Monarch,” and added it would have no further comment at this time.

Allette didn’t play during ODU’s Saturday night loss to Georgia Southern. Interim Head Coach Kieran Donohue hit the podium after the loss, and said the same thing regarding his conduct, using the same verbiage as the University.

Allette was one of the leading scorers in the Sun Belt, averaging 17.4 points per game, and 5.4 rebounds per game.
