NORFOLK (WAVY) — The college football season kicks off this week, and for Old Dominion coach Bobby Wilder can’t wait to see how his offense looks this year with his best wide receiver on the field.

It’s one thing having to play a 17-year-old freshman quarterback, but when your top receiver and all conference running back goes down, you might as well pack it in.

But Wilder has almost all of his starters on offense back, including running back Jeremy Cox and big tackle Nick Clarke and Jonathan Duhart, lost for most of last year with a broken foot.

He’ll team up with the exciting Isaiah Harper to give quarterback Steven Williams the targets he needs to make big plays.

“We’re v ery old all of a sudden,” Duhart said. “We’re a very old offense, so hopefully the youngsters like Steven have matured, we have so many more weapons than we did last year.”

Old Dominion opens the season on September 1st at Liberty.
