Foxboro, MA (WPRI) – Ruthie Polinsky and Morey Hershgordon lay out the Patriots playoff picture with five games remaining in the regular season. Quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick are in search of their fifth Super Bowl Title in New England. The Patriots have been to seven straight AFC Championship games, and have clinched the bye eight straight years.
The Patriots currently sit at 8-3, and in many ways, control their own destiny. They trail only the Kansas City Chiefs who hold possession of first place in the AFC. The Houston Texans also sit at 8-3, however with the Patriots win over the Texans in week one, New England wins the tie-breaker. If the Chiefs and Patriots were to have identical records at the end of the regular season, the Patriots would win that tie-breaker as well. The Patriots beat the Chiefs at Gillette Stadium in week six.
The Patriots host the Minnesota Vikings this weekend at Gillette Stadium after beating division opponent, the New York Jets, in week twelve.
