LAS VEGAS, Nev. (KOIN) — We’re just five days away from finding out where the Lombardi Trophy will reside for the next year.

Both the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs welcomed in a much smaller group of media on Tuesday than what was present during the opening night spectacle.

One of the main discussions of the day was the quarterbacks.

For Kansas City, Patrick Mahomes is heading into his fourth Super Bowl and has his team rolling at the right time. He has spearheaded the Kansas City dynasty, one that’s aiming to rival the Patriots of old.

“For me, it’s about trying to be great every single year,” Mahomes said.

Then there’s the man picked last in the 2022 NFL Draft, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy.

He’s silenced all critics, ending the “Game Manager” debate by getting his team back to the Super Bowl.

Purdy led the NFL in passer rating and has played against eight of the top 10 defenses in the NFL this season.

“As a quarterback coming into the league, it’s been a blessing to have such a great supporting cast around me,” Purdy said.

Both quarterbacks know that there are so many distractions out there, including the fact that they’re playing in a Vegas Super Bowl for the first time.

But when it’s time to put the work in, the mental aspect of the game comes into play.

There’s no doubt the quarterbacks get most of the spotlight, and most of the money.

Mahomes, being the wily vet of this game, says he’s keeping his teammates focused and away from the big Vegas lights and nightlife. However, if they win again, he says he’s bringing the entire team back to celebrate.

Purdy on the other hand? We’ll have to wait and see if Mr. Irrelevant becomes very relevant.
