CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A malfunction shut down the North Landing Bridge on Mt. Pleasant Road Tuesday afternoon and into Wednesday morning.
The closure first went into effect around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, according to Chesapeake Public Works.
The bridge was closed to overnight traffic while crews worked to repair the issue. By 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, Chesapeake Roads posted to X, saying the bridge was still closed to traffic.
Just before 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Chesapeake Roads announced the repairs had been completed and that the bridge opened to traffic.
