VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Cypress Avenue, between 19th Street and Virginia Beach Boulevard, will be closed from Monday through Wednesday for final paving.
According to the city, starting at 6 p.m. on March 18, detours will be put in place on Cypress Avenue until work is completed.
This closure will impact detours on 19th Street near the intersection with North Birdneck Road for a sanitary sewer project, which is also scheduled to start on Monday. Westbound traffic turning left onto Birdneck Road will now be rerouted to Mediterranean Avenue and Virginia Beach Boulevard.
The project, weather permitting, is expected to be completed on March 20 by the end of the day.
