YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) wants to hear from you.
VDOT will hold a public hearing to share information and receive feedback on the proposed designs plans to improve safety by extending the right westbound lane on Route 171 (Victory Boulevard) at Kiln Creek Parkway.
The lane extension project would add a fourth full-length westbound lane on Route 171. This would be accomplished by connecting the acceleration lane from the Walmart Supercenter with the right-turn lane at Kiln Creek Parkway.
VDOT says this will improve the weave area for motorists on Route 171 and reduce angle and rear-end crashes along the route.
The in-person event will take place on Thursday, March 28 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Kiln Creek Recreational Center, 2801 Kiln Creek Parkway.
