Search for the Shamrocks

Friday, March 15 from 4-7 p.m. and Saturday, March 16 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at businesses around the island

The St. Patty’s themed adventure will take place at businesses across the island in the 14th Annual Search for the Shamrocks. Find clues to solve a riddle. Cross the line by 5 p.m. Saturday to register for prizes. Explorers are encouraged to wear green and get ready to shop, play, stay and win the search game.

Hampton

Phoebus Leprechrawl

Saturday, March 16 – hosted by Sly Clyde Ciderworks & Club Waka

Break out your best green outfits and jig down to Phoebus for the 4th Annual PHOEBUS LEPRECHRAWL! Enjoy great specials at the best bars and shops in town while supporting The Peninsula Food Bank!

Check in between 12-3 p.m. at Sly Clyde

CHRAWL is from 1-7 p.m.

57th Annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade

Saturday, March 16 begins at Northside Middle School, Westmont Ave and Granby St

The annual parade is back in Ocean View. Watch marching bands, clowns, floats, cars and groups as they pass by on the 1.5 miles route. The event is free and open to the public.

Stick around for the Party After The Parade at the Columbian Club of Ocean View for food, refreshments and live music. Admission is free and the after party is open to the public.

St. Patrick’s Day Bash

Saturday, March 16 at noon at Benchtop Brewing Company, 1129 Boissevain Ave

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with food, beverages and more. It will feature bagpipes, corned beef sausages, green beer, cocktails and more. Bagpipers from Tidewater Pipes and Drums will play. Don’t miss the special beer release. Wear your green and get ready.

St. Paddy’s Weekend at Elation Brewing

Saturday, March 16 & Sunday, March 17 at Elation Brewing, 5104 Colley Ave

On Saturday, enjoy live music, traditional Irish dishes and more. The MPZ Trio will play from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Scotch N Rye will play at 6:30 p.m.

The fun continues Sunday with traditional eats and snacks including traditional corned beef and cabbage, stout braised beef and veggie stew and more Irish favorites. From 1-4 p.m. Edward Brash will play on the stage. The vendor market will go until 5 p.m.

Virginia Beach

2024 Yuengling Shamrock Marathon Weekend

Friday, March 15 to Sunday, March 17 at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront

It’s the 52nd Shamrock Marathon Weekend. The tradition includes a marathon, half marathon, 8k and other challenges. Enjoy the scenic run along Atlantic Ave and the boardwalk. Cheer on the runners as they go by in their green! After the run, stick around for the post party with beverages, food and music. St. Patrick’s Day Celebration

Sunday, March 17 from noon to 4 p.m. at New Realm Brewing Co., 1875 General Booth Blvd.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with live music, beverages and a vendor market. The Wandering Makers are on-site from noon to 4 p.m. The Chong Band starts at 3 p.m. Check out food and drink specials, local vendors and more.

St. Patty’s Farmhouse Celebration

Sunday, March 17 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Back Bay Brew House, 1805 Kempsville Rd.

Wear your green and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with food trucks, green beer and live music. Slick One will perform from 3-6 p.m.

Smithfield

Downtown Smithfield St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Saturday, March 16 at 10:30 a.m. on Main Street

The annual parade is back with floats, marching units, unique vehicles, the Newport News Pipes and Drums band and more. Find your spot to watch up and down Main Street.
