‘Lover of Men’ doc argues Abraham Lincoln was gay
A new documentary explores the little-known private life of one of America’s most popular presidents, Abraham Lincoln, and asks what it would mean for America to have a queer leader embraced by both sides of the aisle. "Lover of Men: The Untold History of Abraham Lincoln" examines the intimate life of America’s most consequential president through photos, personal letters and contemporary writings with commentary by historians and scholars. Director Shaun Peterson joined KTLA to explain how rigid sexual preference labels didn't exist until the late 19th century and why the film is particularly relevant today. "Lover of Men" is in theatres now with a portion of ticket sales benefiting the Human Rights Campaign when purchased through the HRC link. For tickets and locations, visit LoverofMen.com.
