A prominent political science professor at Norfolk State University has died, according to officials with the university. Professor Carol Pretlow has been with NSU for over 30 years and was a beloved member of the Department of Political Science. Many people also knew her from her appearances on the talk show “Another View Round Table,” a nationally recognized show which focuses on issues surrounding the African American community.

On Saturday, the City of Hampton commemorated the former nurses, Patricia Taylor McKenzie, Agnes Stokes Chisman and Mildred Smith with the unveiling of a historical marker at Hunter B. Andrews School.
