WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) — The road to the White House continues to heat up as there are less than 50 days left till Election Day.

“Donald Trump and his extremist allies will keep trying to pull us backward,” Vice President Kamala Harris said.

Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump pressed his case to voters.

“But we have to take back our country. We have to win. We’re going to win,” Trump said.

Both candidates are busy on the campaign trail with a big focus on improving the economy.

“It’s my ambition to get your energy bill within 12 months, down 50%,” Trump said.

“We will continue to lower the cost of groceries, for example, by taking on something that I think is very important to deal with, which is price gouging on behalf of big corporations,” Harris said.

Harris addressed the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute in Washington, D.C., on what another four years under former President Trump would look like.

“If my opponent, Donald Trump wins, his allies in Congress intend to end Medicare and end Medicare’s negotiating power,” Harris said.

New polling from Quinnipiac University shows Harris ahead in Pennsylvania and Michigan, with Wisconsin up for grabs.

“We’re going to say to Kamala Harris, the energy price raiser, you are fired. We’re getting back to common sense energy policy. We’re going back to Donald J. Trump,” Sen. J.D Vance (R-Ohio.) said.

During a rally in Raleigh, North Carolina, Trump’s running mate, Vance, said there is no reason to support Harris.

“She just flipflop on literally every single proposal she made in 2020. Now she says she doesn’t believe,” Vance said.

Harris will head to Michigan and Wisconsin to finish off the week while Trump will hold a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina on Saturday.
