PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Some schools in the Hampton Roads area, as well as Busch Gardens, will have an adjusted schedule on Thursday due to flooding concerns.

Chesapeake
Dominion Energy is rescheduling the lane shift near 1000 Mt. Pleasant Road. The new dates will be April 3-4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Hampton
The Hampton Roads Transit is rescheduling its Community Resource (CORE) Fair to April 9 due to the potential for flooding. The fair will be from 2-4:30 p.m. at the Hampton Roads Transit Center.
Norfolk
The art show at Norfolk Public Schools Academy for Discovery at Lakewood Middle School has been postponed due to inclement weather. A new date for the show has yet to be determined.
All Norfolk Public School’s after school events and activities have been canceled. After-school childcare programs will remain open, but all parents and guardians must pick-up their children by 5 p.m.
The City of Norfolk has announced that Waste Management crews could be delayed due to weather in some areas. All can’s not serviced on Thursday will be serviced by tomorrow morning.
Northampton County
Northampton County Schools will be dismissing early due to flooding in the roadways.
The middle and high schools will release at 1 p.m., and the elementary schools will release at 1:30 p.m.
Portsmouth
Portsmouth Public Schools and administrative offices will operate on an early release due flooding and calls for additional rain throughout the day.
All afterschool activities have also been canceled.

The Portsmouth City School Board Meeting scheduled for March 28 has also been canceled due to the weather. There is currently no updated date for the meeting.
All City of Portsmouth Offices, including libraries, recreation centers and museums, and Courts will also close at noon on Thursday due to the weather. Waste Management Services will continue as normal.
The Middle Street Garage will be open from the second floor and above for residents to relocate vehicles due to flooding concerns. Vehicles must be moved by 7 a.m. on Friday.
Williamsburg
Busch Gardens will be closed on Thursday due to the weather.
People who purchased tickets for March 28 will be able to use their tickets on any operating day throughout June 30, 2024.
