We are currently stuck in a wet pattern. There is a stationary front just to our west/northwest with a lot of tropical moisture in the region. High pressure is offshore. We’ll have a mix of sun and clouds today. After a brief break from the rain through about midday we’ll have scattered showers and storms forming this afternoon. High temps will be near 90. However, the heat index will be near 100 degrees. Tomorrow we’ll have the stationary front in the region with a cool front approaching from the northwest. We’ll be mostly cloudy with on and off showers and storms. Heavy rain will again be possible. The cool front will sink south on Friday. After a few showers in the morning we will dry out later in the day. High temps will be in the mid 80s. Then we’ll be mainly dry over the weekend. There may be a few showers over the Outer Banks as the front stalls out to our south. High temps will be in the 80s Saturday through Monday. The humidity will drop a bit, and we should have fair skies most of the time. We’ll have quiet weather through the middle of next week with highs mainly in the 80s.
Still quiet in the tropics in the short term.
