HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – The City of Hampton is set to host the annual Blackbeard Festival over the weekend, resulting in periodic road closures in Downtown Hampton.

Starting on Friday, May 31 at 2 p.m., and going through Sunday, June 2 at 9 p.m., several roads throughout Hampton will be closed for the event. Motorists should expect congestion and varying traffic patterns through the weekend.

The full list of road closures can be found below:

  • Easton Street from Mill Point Lane to Queens Way – North and south lanes closed starting at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 31
  • Wine Street from Settlers Landing Road to Old Town Lane – Closure starting at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 31
  • Queens Way from Wine Street to Eaton Street – Closure starting at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 31
  • Booker Bridge from Eaton Street to Hampton Harbor Avenue – Closure from 9-10:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 2

Parking restrictions for the weekend can be found below:

  • Both sides of Eaton Street from Settlers Landing Road to Pembroke Avenue
  • Queens Way from King Street to Franklin Street
  • Wine Street from Lincoln Street to Settlers Landing Road

According to the city, anyone parked in these locations during the event will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.
